◆ About
One search, instead of ten phone calls.
One Stop Driving exists because finding a driving instructor is a worse experience than it needs to be, and nobody involved is at fault.
The problem, plainly
Most driving instructors are sole traders. They teach all day, which is exactly when you're trying to reach them. They don't have a receptionist and they shouldn't have to.
So learners ring round. Some numbers are out of date, some instructors are full, some only teach manual, some cover the next town over but not yours. Ten calls later you've learned nothing except that this is harder than it should be.
Meanwhile instructors get calls from people they can't help, at times they can't answer, and lose the ones they could have taught.
What we actually do
You tell us one thing: your postcode. Then a few more: manual or automatic, when you'd like to start, how often, and how to reach you. That's the whole thing, in under a minute.
We use those details to connect your enquiry with instructors who have told us they cover your postcode and teach what you're asking for. Instructors who are interested contact you directly.
What we are not
We are not a driving school. We don't provide lessons, we don't employ instructors, we don't own cars and we've never taught anyone to do a hill start.
Every lesson you take is with an independent instructor or driving school. They set their own prices, their own terms and their own availability. Your agreement for lessons is with them, not with us. If something goes wrong with a lesson, they are who you talk to, though we'd like to hear about it too.
We're also not a review site, a comparison table or a regulator. We ask instructors to confirm they're DVSA-approved and appropriately insured. We don't inspect anyone's car. Before your first lesson, ask to see the green ADI badge.
How this is paid for
It's free for learners. There's no fee, no subscription, and no charge added to your lesson price.
Instructors pay us for the introduction. That's the whole business model and we'd rather say so on a page you can find than bury it. It also means we have a straightforward incentive: send instructors enquiries from people who genuinely want lessons, in areas they genuinely cover. Volume for its own sake would be worth nothing to anybody.
Where we cover
Coverage is strongest in major UK cities and the towns around them, and it grows as instructors register. The honest answer for any specific postcode is to enter it and see. If we can't help where you are, we'd rather tell you than sit on your details.
Who runs it
One Stop Driving is operated by Digevo Limited, a company registered in England and Wales, number 16415485. You can reach a person on the contact page.
