What we collect, why, who we give it to, and how to make us stop.

Last updated 26 August 2026

1. Who we are

One Stop Driving is a trading name of Digevo Limited, registered in England and Wales, company number 16415485. Registered address: SET COMPANY_ADDRESS IN _shared/config.php.

Digevo Limited is the data controller for the personal data described in this policy. Our ICO registration number is SET ICO_REG IN _shared/config.php.

For anything in this policy, write to privacy@onestopdriving.co.uk.

2. The short version

If you submit an enquiry, we share your name, contact details and lesson preferences with independent driving instructors and driving schools covering your area, so they can contact you about lessons. Instructors pay us for that introduction. You can withdraw consent at any time and we will stop.

The rest of this page is the detail.

3. What we collect

When you submit a learner enquiry

  • Your postcode and the postcode area derived from it
  • Transmission preference: manual, automatic or undecided
  • When you would like to start, and how often you would like lessons
  • Your driving experience level
  • Your first name, mobile number and email address
  • Whether you gave consent for us to share your details, and whether you opted in to marketing emails
  • Technical detail attached to the enquiry: the date and time, the page you submitted from, the site that referred you and any campaign tags in the link you followed

When you register as an instructor

  • Your name and business name
  • Your email address and mobile number
  • The postcode areas you cover and the lesson types you teach
  • Your confirmation that you are DVSA-approved and appropriately insured

When you simply visit the site

If analytics is enabled, a third-party analytics provider collects standard usage data such as pages visited and approximate location derived from IP address. We do not use advertising cookies and we do not run advertising trackers on this site.

4. Why we use it, and our lawful basis

  • To share your enquiry with instructors - lawful basis: your consent, given by ticking the required box before you submit. This is the core purpose of the service.
  • To operate and improve the service, including spotting fake or duplicate enquiries - lawful basis: our legitimate interests in running a functioning service.
  • To send you marketing emails - lawful basis: your consent, given by ticking the optional box. Never assumed, never pre-ticked.
  • To contact instructors about enquiries and coverage - lawful basis: performance of, or steps towards, our arrangement with them.
  • To meet legal and accounting obligations - lawful basis: legal obligation.

5. Who we share it with

Driving instructors and driving schools. This is the point of the service. When you submit an enquiry with consent, we pass your details to one or more independent instructors covering your postcode who teach the transmission you asked for. We may charge them for that introduction.

Once an instructor has your details, they are a separate data controller responsible for their own use of them under their own privacy policy. We require them to use your details only to contact you about lessons, but we cannot control them in the way we control our own systems. If an instructor contacts you in a way you did not expect, tell us and tell them.

Service providers. Our hosting provider, our email provider and, if enabled, our analytics provider. They process data on our instructions.

Nobody else. We do not sell your details to advertisers, list brokers, insurance companies or comparison sites, and we do not share them with instructors outside the area you asked about.

6. How long we keep it

  • Learner enquiries: up to 12 months from submission, then deleted. That window covers people who research early and start later.
  • Marketing consent records: for as long as you remain subscribed, plus a record of the unsubscribe.
  • Instructor records: for as long as the instructor receives enquiries from us, plus 12 months.
  • Records we must keep by law, such as accounting records: for the period the law requires.

7. Your rights

Under UK data protection law you have the right to:

  • Ask what personal data we hold about you and get a copy
  • Have inaccurate data corrected
  • Have your data deleted
  • Restrict or object to how we use it
  • Receive your data in a portable format
  • Withdraw consent at any time, including consent to share your details with instructors

Write to privacy@onestopdriving.co.uk. We respond within one month. There is no charge.

Withdrawing consent stops any future sharing. It cannot un-send details already passed to an instructor. For those, ask the instructor to delete them, and tell us if they don't.

If you are unhappy with how we handle your data you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113. We would rather you raised it with us first.

8. Cookies and storage

The enquiry form keeps your answers in your browser's session storage while you complete it, so a refresh doesn't lose your place. It is cleared when you finish and it never leaves your device.

If analytics is enabled, the analytics provider sets its own cookies. No advertising cookies are set by this site.

9. Children

You can start learning to drive in Great Britain at 17, or at 16 in some circumstances. This service is intended for people old enough to take driving lessons. We do not knowingly collect data from children below that age. If you believe we have, tell us and we will delete it.

10. Changes

If we change this policy we update the date at the top. If a change materially affects how we share your data, we will tell people who have given us consent.
